Ekoparty 2018 Announces Full Agenda And Speakers For Its 14th Edition Of The Most Important Security Conference in Latin America

Top Industry Experts Discuss Modern Security Challenges in a Series of Talks, Panels, Workshops, Trainings and Hands-On Activities

New Vulnerability Found in Apple’s Systems to be Disclosed

Buenos Aires, Argentina (September 20, 2018) – Ekoparty, the most important information security conference in Latin America, announced today its agenda and line-up of speakers for the upcoming Ekoparty #eko14 to be held at Ciudad Cultural Konex – Sarmiento 3131 – in Buenos Aires on September 26-28, 2018.

The 3-day event focuses squarely on the nitty-gritty of information security, its current state and future, featuring a wide range of topics from responsible disclosure of sensitive information to reverse engineering techniques. The highly- rated conference agenda assembles the most current and relevant industry speakers, researchers and leaders to explore the hottest topics influencing the information security industry today.

As technology becomes increasingly more complex, Ekoparty grapples with the evolution of security from being slightly in the background to now being at the forefront and a pre-requisite built into new technologies and systems needing highly adaptable and agile solutions to effectively respond to modern security threats.

The annual think tank event will kick off with 3 days of hands-on style trainings, activities and 25 talks hand-selected by the Ekoparty review committee, comprised of some of the industry’s most esteemed experts. Topics will cover everything from critical vulnerabilities found in everyday’s mobile devices to state- of-the-art exploitation attacks. The talks will be available both in Spanish and English, facilitated by live interpreters.

Attendees are over 2500 participants from diverse backgrounds, from IT professionals to decision-makers representing technology companies, wireless companies, financial institutions, industry bodies and governments.

This year’s edition comes with the brand new addition of two interactive activities dedicated exclusively to kids and teens: Ekokids (kids from 8 to 12 years of age) and a Student Panel (high school students, college students, self-taught and all of the above), with the purpose of getting digital natives to be more involved in lateral-thinking and finding solutions that ultimately build a safer internet.

On the final day of the conference, Senior R&D Engineer James Barclay, will unveil inherent weaknesses discovered in Apple’s enterprise Device Enrollment Program (DEP), demonstrating how attackers can exploit shortcomings in the Apple endpoint authentication process to gain access to sensitive information including certificates, enrollment agents, profiles, and more.
