4. Look Into DDoS Mitigation Tools
It should go without saying, but DDoS mitigation tools such as what you might find in a content
delivery network also go a long way towards protecting your business from traffic floods. By
incorporating automatic load balancing together with an anti-DDoS system, you can keep your
server online through all but the worst attacks.
5. Have a Concrete Incident Response Process
Last but certainly not least, you should also have a process in place that you can refer to if and
when you’re hit by a DDoS attack. This response plan should include how you’ll inform your
customers that there’s an issue, who’s responsible for responding and mitigating an attack, how
this attack will be reported and documented, and how staff will follow-up with customers, law
enforcement, and one another in the wake of an attack.
Protecting Yourself From The Internet of Bots
DDoS attacks and botnets have gotten larger than ever. Until we get a handle on IoT security,
that trend will continue. That means that in the meantime, you need to do what you can to
protect yourself. And now that you’ve read this piece, you know exactly what to do in that
regard.
